Dedicated to the memory of Dorothy Fairless
This site is a tribute to my mum, Dorothy Fairless, who was born in Bishop Auckland County Durham on 1 July 1925 and died on 18 June 2019 aged almost 94.
She was a much loved wife and a wonderful mother. She was a dedicated teacher and a good friend. Dorothy will always be remembered by those who knew her.
The photo shows Dorothy having a jolly birthday lunch at the Waterside Inn - one of my mum's favourite places.

Thoughts
So sorry to hear about Dorothy. I first met her about eleven years ago when I visited her as the lodge Almoner and took her a Christmas gift and card. I visited her many times over the years and we always had a lovely chat. I will miss visiting her as she was a lovely lady. Eddie Halpin

Deepest sympathy to Elaine and Mike. Your Mum was a great neighbour throughout my childhood in Gillingham. She was a good friend for my parents. She became a great comfort and fun company for Mum after my Dads passing in 2004. Their Wednesday evening soirees will remain a lovely memory of a lovely lady.

My deepest condolences to Elaine and Mike. Our good friend Fay has expressed so well one's own thoughts. Dorothy was an enjoyable companion to many of us on various occasions over the years. I won't forget her distinctive voice, nor her spirit, - which will live on. Glyn.
